About KU Charity

KU Charity is an integrated division of Knowledge Universe, funded and managed by them. Knowledge Universe is a registered business entity in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, working across education, business management, and community development.

As part of KU's CSR policies, we strive to create a generation with strong communication and technological skills needed to face the challenges of today's world. At KU Charity we put particular effort into building young people's empathy, social awareness, and practical skills for life.

Flagship Programme

Operation Enterprise

Operation Enterprise (OE) was developed and is delivered to teenagers aged 15–19, regardless of economic status. OE focuses on developing the practical skills that school curricula fail to teach — real-world business awareness, communication, and digital literacy.

Inspired by the American Management Association's approach, OE gives students the tools they need to navigate modern professional life. Batch 1 was inaugurated in February 2013 with 24 students.

What Students Get

Guest sessions with doctors, engineers, and entrepreneurs — helping students make informed career choices.
Everyday English communication through video, media, and interactive classroom activities.
Hands-on computer training with high-speed PCs, Wi-Fi, and unlimited lab hours.
E-citizenship skills: email, Google Docs, online banking, job portals, and safe social media use.
Free file covers, stationery, and learning materials provided throughout.
Top graduates receive a place on KU's international professional programmes.

Who is OE for?
OE is open to school students under 19, regardless of economic background — because KU believes the purpose of education is to create good citizens, and we have the right mix to do it.
